Question

Dear readers,
I am in need of your experience and thoughts. I am looking to purchase a similar shirt (this one is by Our Legacy a brand from Sweden). My question is this - Will this shirt become too heavy (with the four pockets and the epaulets)? I request anyone that has owned a similar shirt or is looking to buy a similar shirt to share your thoughts on how it was and how you wore it (Did you wear it with a sportscoat or with a sweater or cardigan? or on its own?). Thank You.

Oh and seems Thom Browne is getting popular in Sweden (the trouser break - even if it is rolled up). Or is it just a coincidence? Hmm I wonder.

I don't think it would become too heavy as long as the fabric is lightweight and you don't stuff much into the pockets. Just my thought but don't take my word for it because I haven't owned a shirt with 4 pockets. If I did own it I would wear it on its own with a pair of khakis or jeans.

Thank you for the comment Eddy. I would not have worn jeans but instead linen or cotton trousers or a pair of shorts.

I love the extra pocket detailing and thanks for letting me know about Our Legacy...I've not come across this label before. I would suggest leaving the extra pockets as extra detailing, I question the practicallity of using them...what could you put in there without it creating a crazy silhouette.

I would style the shirt in a similar fashion to the Our Legacy model, in colder climes team it up with a lightweight, simple cardigan.

Please let us know how you get on!

i own a check shirt with four pockets and it is in quite a heavy material but i don't notice is so much, the only problem with my shirt is that the material can really only be worn in the winter. so it is all down to the material.

Steve - The detailing by Our Legacy is wonderful (check my post on interesting detail. I agree with you on the crazy silhouette but I still think you can manage to stick in bits of papers if you do need it.

Mat - Does your shirt have epaulets? Can I see a picture of how it fits you? What do you wear it with in winter?

Heavy...perhaps not, but it seems like it must be bulky. There is so much going on.

thesundaybest (sorry I haven't caught your name yet) - do you think it would be less bulky if the pockets didn't have flaps? According to you which pockets of the four would have flaps and which ones wont?

the shirt does have epaulets yes but they are non-functional, they're sewn down.
I don't have any pictures of me wearing it, but it's packed away for winter now as it way too hot for it.

the shirt actually has a zip and press studs to fasten, it cane be worn open and zipped up, and it's dark green and black lumberjack checked. i have worn it with many things but usually i would go for black jeans and boots, dr marten-esque. its also quite baggy and long.

im not sure if any of this will help but at least it might give you an imagine in your head.

Mat - If you have gone through my archives you would have found out about my love for lumberjack checks. Dark Green and Black that sounds wonderful ( now I will have to get something in that).
